In UK, “Shaken Baby Syndrome” skeptic doctor not allowed to testify
No one’s arguing that Shaken Baby Syndrome, or SBS, isn’t a terrible thing. Dr. Marta Cohen would just like to look at individual cases a little more closely. Even when the classically accepted signs of SBS are evident, Cohen says, parents shouldn’t be convicted of murder without rigorous examination and (my words) cautious, unbiased skepticism. Short falls, for example, can cause the same or similar injuries as SBS.
